Customer Onboarding portal

Situation

In this project, my task was to enhance the customer onboarding portal, incorporating updates compliant with the latest IRS regulations. Additionally, the goal was to minimize user confusion, as the existing design had led to a significant drop-off rate during the registration process.

Objective

The objective was to revamp the customer onboarding portal, ensuring compliance with the latest IRS regulations while addressing user confusion, ultimately reducing the high drop-off rate observed during registration.

Action

To achieve this, I initiated a thorough usability analysis, gathering user feedback and collaborating with stakeholders to define a comprehensive design strategy. I implemented updates aligned with the latest IRS regulations, restructured the information architecture, simplified form elements, and incorporated interactive features. Prototyping and rigorous usability testing guided the iterative refinement of the design.

Result

The redesigned customer onboarding portal successfully achieved compliance with IRS regulations, resulting in a significant 40% reduction in the drop-off rate during the registration process. User feedback indicated enhanced clarity, demonstrating the success of the design improvements in addressing both regulatory requirements and user experience concerns.
